I did not understand why people do not live in the country, and the light in the yard is on day and night. Now I understand on my own skin

Dacha is a wonderful place. But I did not expect that there could be robbery and robbery at our dacha. Exaggerated a bit, but still...

We do not live in the country permanently. But we come often. Probably, people who for some reason climbed into our yard and “encircled” the change house knew about this. We kept bicycles there, some tools. Uninvited guests took something, put something on… I really don’t understand the logic… Oh well. He took a statement to the police.

Only after this incident did I think about the fact that in some yards on the street the light is on. Despite the fact that no one lives there permanently.

Do you turn off the lights when you leave the house? Here I am. I always turn it off both in the apartment and in the country. And I didn’t even think that in such a quiet place it’s worth leaving the light on. But now my opinion has changed.

In our SNT, the light burns in few places. At night, pitch darkness. Only here and there the lights flicker. Until recently, I thought it was good - no stranger would walk there in such darkness. But it turned out that, on the contrary, darkness is exactly what thieves need. And I'm not the only one who has experienced this.

Now I have made permanent night lighting in the yard, like some other neighbors from the street. I really don't know if this will help. But it probably won't hurt. The light on is a kind of sign that there is someone in the house, you can’t go in. On the other hand, most of the neighbors have such high fences that if the thieves realize that no one lives in the house, then constant lighting will only benefit the thieves. The neighbors won't even notice. You can "work" without a flashlight.

Well, all the same, I made myself a permanent lighting in the yard. I realized that this is not only a kind, albeit controversial, protection against thieves, but also an additional convenience for me. After all, leaving and entering in the dark from the house is problematic. I usually use a flashlight on my phone. But sometimes the battery runs out and you have to make your way to the touch.

I counted on the money, which is not so expensive. I decided that a comfortable stay in the yard at night and some kind of protection is worth it. Probably worth thinking about a motion sensor... For some reason, this thought just now came to mind.

Do you think you need constant night lighting in a country house if no one lives there? Or does it make no sense? Share your experience.
