Friends, hello to all. In the construction of my house, with my own hands, I managed to try many building technologies. And most of them can be classified as "modern".
Those. I did not use anything like sawdust insulation. But all sorts of films, membranes - only on the way ...
But I'm still wary of new developments in construction.
No matter how beautifully they paint something in commercials, you always want to see the other side of the medal (and she is 100%). And most importantly, understand everything in your head, before putting it into practice.
Although my house is made of aerated concrete, I do not miss information about wooden construction (at least a bath is still planned). This is probably why this miracle technology came into my field of vision ...

In fact, it is a long self-tapping screw, with a spring. According to the manufacturer, it allows you to prevent the appearance of cracks in wooden walls, and make shrinkage more uniform.
All in the style of modern marketing:
- There is a problem that everyone is struggling with.
- We give a beautiful, unusual solution.
- And no guarantees, because there are too many concomitant factors on which you can throw everything off, in case of failure ...
Now let's take a closer look.
Traditionally, the beam is mounted on wooden dowels. That is, they keep the vertical plane of the wall. And the rest of the work is done by physics, and the logs sit down under their own weight. No additional springs are needed for this.
The only place where these spring knots can be useful is in the gables, in case a non-slip truss system is used. There will be no pressure on these logs from the roof and of course they need to be additionally fastened.
But questions still remain:
✔ Will these spring knots really be able to resist the forces of nature?
A wooden house is a structure that constantly "walks". The tree gains moisture and dries up, while changing its geometry, and holding back these processes with some kind of springs is a bold task, but is it realizable?
Do not forget about the heterogeneity of materials.
In general, combining iron with wood is not the best idea. Since the metal rusts and this affects the safety of the wood. And when all this happens inside the beam, it is even more critical.
✅Here, manufacturers of spring units offer a solution by making their products galvanized, or almost stainless steel.
But even in this case, in the contact zone of metal with wood, due to the different thermal conductivity of materials, condensation may form (in winter), which will also bring little benefit to your home.
Well, without taking into account the price, of course, you can not do it.

When you see a difference of more than two times, you want to expect something special from this spring assembly. But in fact, we pay only for the cost of the material, and the complexity of the design.
Primary analysis does not inspire confidence.
Perhaps all these theoretical reflections are one thing, but miracles happen in practice, and this spring knot brings real benefits. But I personally did not find a real review of any carpenter, wherever it was indicated where and from whom I purchased this product, but there were real examples of the technology.
